Israel is conducting the largest operation against Palestine in several years.
The city of Jenin is surrounded along the perimeter, artillery is pulled up to it, shooting and explosions are heard. At least five Palestinians were killed and 28 others were injured.
According to the Israeli military, the purpose of the operation is to destroy the command center of the Jenin Brigades militant group. It was disguised as a refugee camp.
Meanwhile, in the south of Israel, the Iron Dome air defense system is being deployed, waiting for strikes from the Gaza Strip.
