Two Russian Mi-8 helicopters, a Su-35 fighter jet and a Su-34 bomber, were shot down near the Ukraine borderer today, May 13
Updated on May 14th: + 1 helicopter was shot down during the same incident . Ukrainian official and Wagner PMC Prigozhin, claim that this was work of Russian air defences.
Video is available through this link:
Russia is claiming that Ukrainian sabotage troops crossed the border and shot down all targets from the Russian territory. This theory is hard to believe ( in my opinion) , it would require a big sabotage group , crossing into Russia , while carrying Stingers or smth similar - all unnoticed.
Russian Tass media official update was : Four aircraft that crashed in the Bryansk region were part of the same air group. They were supposed to strike at Ukraine , - Russian media.
The fighters were supposed to launch a missile and bomb attack on targets in the Chernihiv region, and the helicopters were supposed to insure them. In particular, to pick up Su crews if they are shot down by the Ukrainian military. The "Interception" plan was introduced on the territory of the Klintsovsky district of the Bryansk region
This was Wagner PMC , Prigozhin's comment on the incident:
Direct video link :
The crews (nine pilots) of the aircraft were killed, and "they are looking for the attackers on the ground and in the air."
In my opinion, with latest drone attacks on Belgorod and the hiatory of Russian air defences shotting down their own planes... To me it feels likea they were too paranoid of drones and shot down their own planes and helicopters.
Both situations, look really bad on them, so I am curious what official version, they will go by. So far they are hunting Ukrainian sabotage teams in Belgorod, closed off all the roads .
