US and Chinese warplanes almost collided over the South China Sea
This was reported in the Indo-Pacific Command of the US Armed Forces.
The incident happened at night on October 24 in international airspace.
According to the US military, the pilot of a Chinese Shenyang J-11 fighter jet tried to intercept a Boeing B-52 bomber of the US Air Force.
It is alleged that he flew about 3m, demonstrating his "unprofessionalism" and "poor piloting skills", putting two sides in danger.
